There's never a dull moment at Broxburn (unless you want one, of course!).
From gentle exercise and crafts to lively Saturday socials, there's something for everyone. We enjoy visits from local nursery and primary school children, regular bingo and quiz nights, gardening club, and trips out to garden centres, cafés, the seaside — or even the Highland Show!
Life at Broxburn is never short of a laugh — or a dance partner or two.
From donkeys to ducklings — we love bringing unexpected moments of joy to our residents' days.

Trips to the seaside, cafés and beyond
Keeping active doesn't have to be serious — our team make sure there are plenty of smiles along the way.
A flavour of everything that goes on — activities are always based on what residents love and are never a requirement.

And we mustn't forget Oakley — our very own Trainee Resident Relations Officer, who pops in weekly to brighten everyone's day.
Oakley has taken to the role with remarkable enthusiasm — particularly the parts involving cuddles, belly rubs, and biscuits. Whether settling in beside a favourite resident or doing a full tour of the lounges, no visit is ever quite the same.
Qualifications: Outstanding in the field of emotional support. Certified bringer of smiles. Currently working towards full RRO status.
Yes — we plan activities based on residents' personal preferences, with monthly activity planners and a quarterly newsletter to keep everyone informed of what's coming up.
Our activities are varied, meaningful and always led by what residents enjoy. From gentle exercise and arts & crafts to bingo nights, quiz nights, gardening club and trips out — there's something for everyone, and nobody is ever pressured to join in.
We've enjoyed trips to the seaside, garden centres and cafés, visits to the Highland Show, barge trips, shopping trips and movie afternoons. Closer to home we love themed events like Mother's Day, Halloween and Christmas, as well as regular Saturday socials and visits from local nursery and primary school children.
Absolutely — but always with respect for personal choice. Residents can join in as much or as little as they like. Some love being in the thick of it; others prefer a quieter moment, and that's perfectly fine too.
Yes! We have two visiting hairdressers and a podiatrist (currently £25). Residents can also enjoy our relaxing therapy room, complete with nail care and hand massages.
Yes — our beautiful gardens are accessible to all residents. Whether it's a gentle stroll, a spot of gardening club, or simply sitting out with a cup of tea, the garden is there to be enjoyed by everyone.
Words only go so far. Come and visit Broxburn Care Home and see the activities, meet the team — and if you're lucky, meet Oakley too.
